In 2003 I was introduced a wonderful Welsh group, known as Funeral For A Friend. Since 2003 they've put out four amazing albums, including two concept albums. However their first release, Casually Dressed And Deep In Conversation earns them their place as one of my favourite acts.
Lyrically, the entire album captures nothing out of the ordinary; love, loss, friendship. But in those lyrics some of the most haunting words come out; Rookie Of Year features the line "Thank you for making this, the best day of my life. In hope and desperation; I'll find my only light in your white wedding dress." while Escape Artists Never Die states "With a hundred thousand lights....timing is everything."
Altough the band would later go on to release other favourites in my collection; Hours in 2005, Tales Don't Tell Themselves in 2007, Memory and Humanity for 2008 and their latest in 2011 Welcome Home Armageddon; their first release remains cemented in my youth as a welcome escape.
